Passengers appreciate efforts to fight vandalism in public transport

A majority of passengers are positive about "Rīgas satiksme’s" efforts aimed at fighting vandalism in public transport, but at the same time they believe that the society has to play a more active role in fighting vandalism, according to an opinion poll held on the "Rīgas satiksme" website.

44% of respondents support fight against vandalism, but would like the society to be more involved in this fight, whereas 23% believe that vandalism will decrease only after the introduction of tougher fines.

15% of respondents welcome any measures limiting vandalism, adding that they prefer using clean public transport.

17% of respondents are more sceptical, they believe that fighting vandalism is a long process, the results of which will not be visible very soon.

More than 2000 respondents took part in the opinion poll which was held on Rīgas satiksme website in August, this year.
